The new helmets being tried out for the first time this weekend are having unexpected side affects. With the new effort to ward off helmet to helmet contact Dr. Ziegfried Roy has designed the new “MagnoHelm”. Lined with polarizing magnets these helmets cannot collide with each other as the strong magnets inside repel one another. While helmet to helmet contact has been virtually eliminated this weekend there has been an un-forecast increase in whiplash incidents as opponents rapidly approaching one another are violently repelled as their helmets near contact.
Another unexpected affect of the MagnoHelm occurred when an unnamed receiver went high to catch a pass in the endzone, caught the pass but ended up with his helmet stuck to the goalpost. As of this writing he has yet to get his feet down to determine the outcome of the play.
